Lukoil PJSC on Friday reported that its profit improved in the second quarter from the immediately prior period, reflecting higher prices and volumes.

The Russian oil-and-gas company made a net profit of $189.8 billion rubles ($2.56 billion) in the three months ended June 30, up from RUB157.4 billion in the first quarter of 2021.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization rose to RUB339.8 billion from RUB314.4 billion.

Sales increased to RUB2.202 trillion from RUB1.877 trillion.

"The growth was mainly attributable to higher prices for crude oil and refined products, higher oil production and trading volumes, as well as higher refinery throughput volumes and retail sales volumes of refined products in Russia and internationally," Lukoil said.
