WARSAW--Polish state-controlled power utility PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (PGE.WA) and a unit of local peer Energa SA have agreed to take over 75% of shares in a Polish windfarm company owned by Spain's Iberdrola SA (IBE.MC) for 840 million zlotys ($266.57 million), PGE said in a statement Tuesday.

PGE said it plans to buy the remaining 25% in Iberdrola Renewables Polska, now held by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. PGE will acquire windfarms with a capacity of 70.5 megawatts and projects that will add a further 36 megawatts. Energa will buy windfarms with a capacity of 114 megawatts and projects with a total planned capacity of 1,146 megawatts.

PGE and Energa earlier in February agreed to buy the Polish windfarm portfolio of DONG Energy A/S for PLN1 billion zlotys.
