Volkswagen AG (VOW.XE) Chief Financial Officer Hans Dieter Poetsch said Thursday the German automaker's vehicle production is set to exceed deliveries to customers in 2010.

Poetsch told analysts at the company's headquarters that inventory levels were "not ideal" and that a re-stocking is required.

Volkswagen was one of the biggest beneficiaries of scrapping incentive schemes last year, which revived demand especially for small cars.
