Treasury Wine Estates Ltd. (TWE.AU) said Wednesday it has appointed two former executives from liquor giant Diagio PLC (DEO) as the new heads of its local and American operations.

Chris Flaherty, who joined Treasury Wine Estates in November, has been promoted to managing director of its Australian and New Zealand operations.

Sandra LaDrew, most recently president of Diageo's catalyst business unit, will head up the Americas unit.

Flaherty's appointment is effective immediately and LaDrew starts her new role in March, the company said in a statement.

The wine company, with operations in 11 countries, was spun out of Fosters Group Ltd. (FGL.AU) last year.
