Vestas Wind Systems AS said Thursday that a previously announced conditional order for turbines with a total capacity of 1.3 gigawatts in Brazil has now been made a firm and unconditional order.

The Danish wind-turbine maker will supply 168 of its V150-4.5 megawatt turbines to Casa dos Ventos Energias Renovaveis S/A's Serra do Tigre project and 123 of the turbines to the Babilonia Centro project.

Vestas will supply, install and commission the turbines and the contract includes a 25-year service agreement, it said.

Delivery of the turbines is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2024, with commissioning expected to begin in the first quarter of 2025, it added.
