- University of Georgia Takes Home Top Honors - Competition Projects Importance of Global Market with Focus on China AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Nov. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Graduate students at the University of Georgia in Athens, Ga. competed for first prize and won $15,000 in scholarships at the DaimlerChrysler Corporation Fund sponsored National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA) National Student Case Competition held at the 27th annual conference in San Diego, Calif. Michigan State University and Pennsylvania State University received second and third place awards, respectively. Since 1995, DaimlerChrysler Corp. Fund has been the sole sponsor of the competition. This year, DaimlerChrysler Services, the captive finance arm of DaimlerChrysler, partnered with DaimlerChrysler Corp. Fund to sponsor the National Student Case Competition. The competition included students from nearly 30 top business schools from around the country. The student teams developed business solutions to meet real world challenges while competing for scholarship awards totaling $35,000. In addition to participation in the academic competition, graduate students representing the top business schools in the United States gained valuable access and exposure to companies that could recruit and eventually hire them. Students were asked to address the Chinese automotive market potential and to perform a product assessment for the Chrysler Group. Elements of the proposals included consumer marketing, creating a distribution network and expanding Chrysler Group's presence in China. The teams were judged on the feasibility of their recommendation, quality of their content analysis, the custom solution they provided and their presentation styles.
