AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Nov. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Chrysler
Group, which introduced 10 all-new vehicles this year, is
showcasing three of them in a new co-branded TV ad campaign that
highlights the benefits of SIRIUS Satellite Radio in Chrysler,
Jeep(R) and Dodge vehicles. The trio of 30-second spots features
the 2007 Chrysler Aspen, the 2007 Dodge Nitro and, in the ad for
the 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, skateboard legend Tony Hawk. The
ads debut on network and cable television Friday, Nov. 10. "This
campaign connects three of our hottest, all-new vehicles with their
target customers by featuring SIRIUS Satellite Radio's exciting
music programming," said George Murphy, Senior Vice President,
Global Brand Marketing, Chrysler Group. "It's a very natural and
very powerful co-branding opportunity." "Through this exciting,
nationwide campaign, millions of people will be given a taste of
the driving experience that is in store with the combination of
SIRIUS Satellite Radio and Chrysler Group vehicles," said Scott
Greenstein, SIRIUS President, Entertainment and Sports. "While in
their cars, SIRIUS brings drivers all across the nation a listening
experience they cannot get anywhere else, with its 100%
commercial-free music, live coverage of the hottest sports games
and talk shows from their favorite personalities from all areas of
the entertainment industry." "Song Conversation" -- Two couples in
a 2007 Chrysler Aspen drive up to a drive-through restaurant's menu
board. Over the talk-box, the attendant asks, "Can I take your
order, please?" The passengers start calling out songs they'd like
to hear on their SIRIUS radio: "I Want Candy," "Black Coffee in
Bed," "Sugar, Sugar," "Tutti Fruiti," "Rubber Biscuit," "Nails for
Breakfast, Tacks for Snacks," and "Rock Lobster." The attendant
looks confused because he thinks they are placing a food order. The
passengers settle on "Sonic Peaches," which the driver selects on
the SIRIUS radio. The SIRIUS logo comes on the screen with a
voice-over: "Get any new Chrysler, like the all-new Aspen, equipped
with a SIRIUS Satellite Radio, and you'll get a 12-month
subscription to the best radio on radio." Back in the vehicle, the
confused passengers are looking inside carry-out bags of food as
one of them asks, "What did we just order?" "Grinding" -- The spot
opens on outdoor concrete steps with a metal rail running down the
middle. A young skateboarder "grinds" down the rail, followed by a
second. Standing on the sidewalk, the skateboarders look up to see
a 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited coming down on the rail, sideways.
Tony Hawk is behind the wheel. After the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
lands on the sidewalk, Hawk says to the skateboarders, "This
thing's got pop!" The SIRIUS logo comes on the screen with a
voice-over: "Get any new Jeep vehicle, like the all-new Wrangler
Unlimited, equipped with a SIRIUS Satellite Radio, and you'll get a
12-month subscription to the best radio on radio." The spot closes
with the skateboarders walking back up the stairs for another run.
Hawk drives by them in the Wrangler Unlimited and says, "Now I'm
going to try a hurricane." (A type of skateboard stunt.) Says one
of the youngsters under his breath, "Show- off." "Parking Space" --
Two couples out for a night on the town are cruising a parking lot
in a 2007 Dodge Nitro, looking for a space to park. They find one,
but the driver has to squeeze into it because another vehicle is
parked nearly sideways. "I can't get out," says a passenger in the
Dodge Nitro. "I got it," says the driver. He reaches for the dial
of the SIRIUS Satellite Radio, finds a Hip Hop station and cranks
up the volume. The vehicle taking up too much space starts to
vibrate from the radio's sound waves, moving away from the Dodge
Nitro, inch by inch. The SIRIUS logo comes on the screen with a
voice- over: "Get any new Dodge, like the all-new Nitro equipped
with a SIRIUS Satellite Radio, and you'll get a 12-month
subscription to the best radio on radio." Back in the parking lot,
the couples easily exit the Nitro. Not only did the music move the
offending car away from the Nitro, it did the same thing to nearly
all the vehicles in the lot. The Chrysler Group offers SIRIUS
Satellite Radio as both a dealer- and factory-installed feature.
Suggested retail price for factory installation is $195 and
includes a no-charge, one-year SIRIUS subscription. The suggested
retail price for the dealer installation option is $325 plus labor,
in addition to a SIRIUS subscription of $12.95 per month. SIRIUS
Satellite Radio is available in all Chrysler Group vehicles except
the Chrysler Crossfire and Dodge Sprinter vans. The all-new 2007
Chrysler Aspen, the brand's first sport-utility vehicle, boasts
elegant Chrysler styling, unsurpassed capability and performance.
Compared with large SUVs, the Chrysler Aspen is more fuel-efficient
and maneuverable. Compared with full-size SUVs, Chrysler Aspen
features more interior passenger space and cargo room, coupled with
unmatched towing and hauling capability. Featuring a one-of-a-kind,
four-door, open-air design, the all-new 2007 Jeep Wrangler
Unlimited expands the Jeep experience to new dimensions. With room
for five adult passengers -- a Wrangler first -- and the most cargo
space ever offered in a Wrangler, the all-new Unlimited combines
class-leading off- road capability with everyday practicality. The
all-new, five-passenger 2007 Dodge Nitro features bold, aggressive
styling with performance to match. The first mid-size SUV for the
Dodge brand is designed and engineered to ignite a segment
characterized by bland, mild- mannered entries. DATASOURCE:
