Governor Jennifer Granholm Appoints Chrysler Group's Monica Emerson to Oakland University Board of Trustees

/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Chrysler Group today announced that
Monica Emerson, Executive Director - Corporate Diversity Office has
been appointed by Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm to the
Oakland University Board of Trustees for a term ending August 11,
2014. "It is an honor to be appointed by Gov. Granholm to serve on
the Board of Trustees for Oakland University," said Emerson.
"Serving the great university from which I graduated is a humbling
and rewarding experience. I am appreciative of the opportunity this
appointment provides." The Oakland University Board of Trustees
provides general supervision of the university, including control
and direction of all expenditures of the institution. The board
also appoints the university president, secretary to the board and
the treasurer. In a letter announcing the appointment, Gov.
Granholm expressed her confidence in Emerson's role as a Oakland
University trustee based upon her background and years of
experience and thanked her for taking on the challenge of being a
trustee. Emerson received her Bachelor of Arts degree in
French/Secondary Education from Oakland University, her Master of
Arts in Guidance and Counseling from Wayne State University and her
Professional Development in Management Degree from the University
