With the recent amendments in the Companies Bill, India is all set to become the first country to make the disclosure of CSR activities mandatory. According to the Standing Committee on Finance, 2% of average net profit for the last 3 years of companies should be made mandatory for companies with a net worth of INR 500 crore or more, or those that have an annual turnover of at least INR 1,000 crore, or companies with a net profit of INR 5 crore or more.
