Credit Agricole SA (ACA.FR) said Wednesday that the head of its corporate and investment banking unit is retiring at the end of the year.

Mr. Jean-Yves Hocher will be replaced by Jacques Ripoll, who will join the bank September 3.

Mr. Ripoll, a former Banco Santander SA (SAN.MC) manager, will take up his new responsibilities at the end of the year, when Mr. Hocher leaves.

Aside from taking over as CEO of Credit Agricole CIB, Mr. Ripoll will also be in charge of Credit Agricole's large clients division, the bank said.

Credit Agricole also said that its board appointed two new deputy managing directors of CIB and reshuffled some general management responsibilities at the unit.
