Time for Large Caps? - Real Time Insight

For the bulk of 2011 and early 2012 large caps were the best
game in town. Then in mid-November 2012 there was a changing of the
guard. From there small caps have clearly carried the torch for the
stock market.
In the chart below, I compare the returns of the small cap laden
Russell 2000 (^RUT) vs. the large cap oriented S&P 500
(^GSPC).
Flash forward to today (April 1, 2013). The S&P 500 is
nearly a full 1% ahead of the Russell 2000. The Dow even looks
better than that.
So is this a true change in the trend where large caps are now
the place to be? Or is this just some brief rotation that won't
last?
