Quepasa Corporation (NYSE Amex: QPSA), the public market leader for
social discovery and owner of North-American platform myYearbook
and Latin-American platform Quepasa, has announced a myYearbook
partnership with Inspire USA Foundation's ReachOut.com, a nonprofit
organization that designs and delivers innovative technology-based
services that promote mental health and prevent suicide among young
adults and teens. The ReachOut fan page on myYearbook is live now,
with a goal of reaching more than a million fans in the next year.
ReachOut.com helps teens and young adults improve their
understanding of mental health issues, develop resilience, build
coping-skills and increase help-seeking behavior. It provides
evidenced-based information and supports, real life stories and the
ability to connect and contribute in a safe and supported
community.
"Young adults have a lot on their plate these days," says
Catherine Cook, Vice President of Strategy for Quepasa Corporation.
"From balancing schoolwork with home life and relationships, we
want our members to know that if they're struggling, they're not
alone," added Cook, who is co-founder of myYearbook and also a
member of the Reach Out Youth Council.
ReachOut is a valuable resource where members can go for
support, information and to interact with other members who face
similar struggles. Using myYearbook's Ask Me application, members
are able to anonymously ask questions on a range of mental health
issues each week.
Additionally, ReachOut will be added to myYearbook Causes,
allowing members to also donate their virtual currency, Lunch
Money. As with all myYearbook Causes, the company writes a check
for real US dollars at the end of every month based on the giving
activity of myYearbook members.
