The Swedish krona weakened against the euro in the early European session on Monday, after data showed that the nation's unemployment rate rose in March.

Data from Statistics Sweden showed that Sweden unemployment rate climbed to 7.7 percent in March, up from February reading of 7.6. The number of unemployed people rose 406, 000 in March, up from 396,000 people in February.

Against the euro, the krona fell to 9.1720 from an early high of 9.1322. At Friday's close, the krona was trading at 9.1429 against the euro.

If the krona extends its downtrend, it is likely to find support around the 9.30 area.
