                    DIRECTORS SHARE DEALING
                               

The  Company was notified on 7 January 1999 that on  4  January
1999  Mr  R  J  Shashoua, a director of the  Company,  acquired
12,400  ordinary  shares of 5p each in the  Company  ("Ordinary
Shares")  representing 0.08 per cent. of the  Company's  issued
ordinary  share  capital at a price of 73p per Ordinary  Share.
Following  this  transaction,  Mr  R  J  Shashoua's  beneficial
interest  in  the Company's issued ordinary share  capital  has
risen to 44,940 Ordinary Shares which represents 0.28 per cent.
of the total issued ordinary share capital.
