            INCO LIMITED ANNOUNCES PARTICIPATION IN TWO CONFERENCES
               WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF THE INVESTMENT COMMUNITY
                     OVER THE SEPTEMBER 16 -17, 2004 PERIOD


Toronto, September 8, 2004 -- Inco Limited ("Inco") announced today that it will
be participating in two conferences with representatives of the investment
community over the September 16 - 17, 2004 period and that the text and copies
of the slides to be used as part of the presentations to be made at these
conferences will be posted on Inco's website. These presentations will not be
webcast.


Peter C. Jones, Inco's President and Chief Operating Officer, will be making a
presentation on Inco's plans and strategies at the CLSA Investors' Forum 2004
scheduled to be held in Hong Kong over the September 13 - 17, 2004 period. Mr.
Jones is expected to begin speaking at approximately 11:00 a.m. (Hong Kong time)
on September 16, 2004.


Peter C. Jones will also be making a presentation on Inco's plans and strategies
at the Merrill Lynch Canada 10th Annual Mining Conference scheduled to be held
in Toronto over the September 16 - 17, 2004 period. Mr. Jones is expected to
speak beginning at approximately 8:45 a.m. (Toronto time) on September 17, 2004.


Copies of the slides to be used and the text of the presentations Mr. Jones will
be making will be available for on-line viewing and/or printing either by the
start of the presentation, or as soon as practical, taking into account when a
presentation is being made, through the "Latest Presentations" link on Inco's
website, www.inco.com.
