GEM DIAMONDS AUSTRALIA PTY LTD - COMPULSORY ACQUISITION OF
OUTSTANDING KIMBERLEY SHARES

Gem Diamonds Australia has lodged with the Australian Securities & Investment
Commission and the Australian Securities Exchange notice of compulsory
acquisition of the remaining shares on issue in Kimberley Diamond Company NL.
