Northern Electric plc announces that it wishes to take advantage of the
relaxation of the 90 day reporting requirement to 120 days in respect of its
interim statement for the six months to 30 June 2005, due to the additional work
involved in producing that statement in accordance with the International
Financial Reporting Standards, and may, therefore, publish its interim statement
later than the 90 days specified in the Listing Rules.
