                     Appointment of non-executive director



The Company announced on 30 April 2002 that Peter Thoms had been appointed as a
non-executive director of Ultima with effect from 29 April 2002.


Mr Thoms is also currently the Finance Director of NXT PLC, a company he joined
in 1992, and a director of Reflex Group plc.


In accordance with paragraph 16.4(b) of the Listings Rules, there are no
additional matters that are required to be disclosed in relation to Mr Thoms
pursuant to paragraph 6.F.2(b) to (g).
