    Board Appointment

    Sovereign Oilfield Group Plc, the Aberdeen based diversified oilfield services group, announces that Robert Ellis has been appointed to
the board of Sovereign as a Director and elected as Chairman by the Board.

    Robert Keith Ellis (age 57) is an experienced business leader and is currently Chairman of a number of private companies. His skill and
experience will assist the Company through its current refinancing and allow the Board to continue to develop the business.

    As part of the restructuring of the Board, Dr Peter Felter continues as Deputy Chairman.

    Robert Ellis ceased to be a Director of US based Audio Visual Services Corporation ("AVSC") in December 2004.  AVSC (OTC Bulletin Board)
entered into a voluntary Chapter 11 in December 2001 as part of a refinancing process to convert $288m of existing debt into 100% equity of
the company. The business emerged from Chapter 11 in February 2002. 

    There are no other details required to be disclosed under paragraph (g) of Schedule 2 of the AIM Rules.
