Holdings Plc ("Wizz Air"), the fastest growing and one of the most
sustainable European airlines, today announces passenger and
CO2 emission statistics for March 2024.
In March 2024, Wizz Air carried
4,778,980 passengers, representing a 12.0% increase year-on-year,
at a load factor of 90.8%, impacted by one-directional VFR traffic
during the Easter period.
The airline continued to improve its
network and customer offering in March. During the
month:
· Wizz Air restarted
flights to Tel Aviv, Israel, with the initial re-launch of
operations from six bases. Throughout April, May and June, further
routes from the Wizz Air network will resume operations.
· Wizz
Air announced special flights for football fans flying to the UEFA
European Football Championship in Germany this summer.
· Wizz
Air celebrated International Women's Day with all-female crews on
selected flights across its network, strengthening its commitment
to fostering gender diversity and empowering women in
aviation.
· Wizz
Air held the first 'Women on Air' event, offering an opportunity
for all employees to gain insights into the experiences of women
who have achieved remarkable success in leadership positions across
the aviation industry.
· Wizz
Air continues to consistently report the lowest CO2
emissions per passenger/km among competitor airlines, with 52.0
grams per passenger/km for the rolling 12 months to 31 March 2024.
For the month of March, CO2 emissions were 51.5 grams
per passenger/km (1.3% higher than the same month last
year).
