Corinthian Colleges to Offer New Bachelor of Science Degree in
Criminal Justice at Everest College in Phoenix, Arizona; New Branch
Campus Approval Also Received - Approval Marks First Bachelor's
Degree Program for Phoenix Campus - SANTA ANA, Calif., Dec. 2
/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Corinthian Colleges, Inc. (NASDAQ:COCO)
today announced that its Everest College Phoenix campus has
received approval from the Higher Learning Commission of the North
Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA) to award a new
bachelor of science degree in criminal justice. The new degree is
the first bachelor's degree offered through Everest College.
Everest College already has begun enrolling students in the new
degree program. Current and new students interested in pursuing a
career in criminal justice will now have the option to obtain a
higher-level degree while staying within the Everest College
system. A bachelor's degree enhances the career opportunities in
the criminal justice field, which includes police officer, special
agent, corrections officer, deputy U.S. marshal and U.S. border
patrol agent positions. In addition, Everest College Phoenix
received approval to offer the new bachelor's degree and existing
associate's degrees in an online delivery format. The campus
expects to commence offering exclusively online degree programs
during the fourth quarter of fiscal 2005. The campus currently
offers associate's degrees in accounting, business, criminal
justice, paralegal, office management and technology. "Corinthian
has seen tremendous growth in the popularity of higher-level degree
programs," said Jack D. Massimino, Corinthian's president and chief
executive officer. "The expansion of our curricula and online
learning at Everest College are prime examples of Corinthian's
dedication to meeting the demands of the job market and our
students' needs for more skills and education to achieve their
career goals." Corinthian also announced that it has received an
approval by NCA to open a new branch of Everest College in the
Phoenix area. The campus location, programs and expected opening
date will be announced after the college identifies and secures a
lease for appropriate facilities. About Corinthian Colleges, Inc.
