Another fresh investment by TWG in radio's digital future

The Wireless Group plc ("TWG") announces that it has reached agreement with the
administrators of Clubmend Ltd to acquire its 6% interest in DRG (London) Ltd
("DRG"), owner of the London III digital multiplex licence. The acquisition is
subject to the exercise of pre-emption rights by the shareholders of DRG.

This follows the recent agreement with Matsushita Electric Europe
(Headquarters), a subsidiary of Panasonic, to acquire its 10% interest in DRG.

TWG is already the joint largest shareholder in DRG with a 23.58% stake and it
also has an 80.5% stake in the London II licence, held by SwitchDigital (London)
Ltd, making TWG the largest digital multiplex operator in London.

Kelvin MacKenzie, Chairman and Chief Executive of TWG, commented: "As I said a
few days ago, we are serious about investing in the digital future of radio.
Listeners clearly want digital radio as evidenced by the record number of sets
sold in the run-up to Christmas and the industry is expecting increasing sales
this year. It is the hottest, must-have consumer product in the sector."

In addition to its interests in London, TWG is a 92% shareholder in
SwitchDigital (Scotland) Ltd, which holds the Central Scotland (incorporating
Glasgow and Edinburgh) and Aberdeen multiplex licences. In conjunction with
Emap, TWG also has interests in the following three licences:

Bradford and Huddersfield (80%)
Swansea (70%) - starts broadcasting at the end of January 2004
Stoke-on-Trent (70%) - starts broadcasting in April 2004

                                    - ends -
