Virginia Commerce Bank has been nationally recognized by the American Bankers Association for its outreach efforts and contributions to the Northern Virginia community. The Certificate of Recognition for �Making the Difference,� which honors community banks� exceptional charitable achievements, was awarded at the American Bankers Association National Conference for Community Bankers in Phoenix, Arizona on February 17.

The award reflects Virginia Commerce Bank�s organizational commitment to �Making the Difference� in the Northern Virginia community and the collective contributions of the 325 VCB employees, who have dedicated hundreds of man hours and resources to a broad array of local community organizations.

In conjunction with the 20th anniversary of the Bank�s opening, each branch and department partnered with local charities to help in hands-on, meaningful ways as a way to thank communities throughout Northern Virginia and Fredericksburg that have contributed to Virginia Commerce Bank�s success throughout the years.

  • Financial training for local area high school students
  • Event planning and assistance for the Special Olympics
  • Fundraising for the Ronald McDonald House
  • Donating home repairs to needy families in partnership with non-profit organization, Rebuilding Together Alexandria
  • Providing a series of free seminars in conjunction with the Loudoun Abused Women�s Shelter to train women on basic personal finance topics that empower them to better manage their finances
  • Partnering with the�Alexandria Department of Human Services, to provide a low income family with housing and basic necessities
  • Promoting economic independence for homeless and underprivileged individuals and families in conjunction with non-profit organization SERVE (Securing Emergency Resources through Volunteer Efforts)
