Cingular Wireless and BIO-key also said today that they are providing the Massachusetts State Police with a high-speed wireless law enforcement solution that is being deployed statewide. Massachusetts State Police troopers assigned to Massport are using BIO- key's PocketCop software operating on HP iPAQ Pocket PCs over the nationwide Cingular Wireless EDGE high-speed wireless data network. The EDGE-enabled PocketCop solution allows state troopers patrolling Logan International to have near real-time access to driver license information, including driver photographs, vehicle registration, stolen vehicle information, weapon registrations, wants and warrant information, and access to local, county, state and federal criminal databases.
