ATLANTA, Aug. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Cingular Wireless is kicking up some dust on the professional bull riding circuit. The nation's largest wireless carrier announced endorsement deals with Professional Bull Riders (PBR) standouts Justin McBride and Paulo Crimber. As part of the agreements, which run through the 2006 season, McBride and Crimber will begin competing in PBR events outfitted in Cingular-branded apparel, while also serving as spokespersons for the company and making special appearances. McBride and Crimber compete regularly in the elite, Built Ford Tough Series (BFTS) of the PBR. Widely recognized as one of the most consistent competitors on the tour, McBride, a third-generation bull rider, is currently ranked No. 1 in the BFTS standings with season earnings of over $250,000. Crimber, who hails from Sao Paulo, Brazil and has earned the nickname the "Brazilian Bombshell", is currently ranked No. 12 in the BFTS standings. Crimber also competes in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, where he claimed the 2004 National Finals Rodeo Bull Riding Championship. "This is an excellent opportunity for Cingular to be involved in one of the most popular spectator sports in country," said David Garver, executive director of high growth segments and sponsorships at Cingular Wireless. "Justin McBride and Paulo Crimber are two of the emerging stars in professional bull riding and are great examples of athletes raising the bar in their sport. We look forward to our partnership with these two talented competitors." During the 2005 season, Crimber and McBride have made appearances at over 20 BFTS competitions each. The 29-city, $10 million tour includes events in Anaheim, Atlanta, Dallas, Miami and Phoenix. It has an estimated 100 million viewers annually tuning in to watch televised PBR events on NBC Sports and the Outdoor Life Network (OLN). These deals mark the second and third such partnerships for Cingular this year. In January, Cingular reached a similar two-year agreement with world champion tie-down roper Monty Lewis, who competes on the Wrangler ProRodeo circuit. Lewis also competes in Cingular-branded gear and makes special appearances for the company.
