McCoy Tops Fan Voting After Record-Setting Performance Against Baylor ATLANTA, Oct. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Texas quarterback Colt McCoy lit up the scoreboard with a record setting performance in the Longhorns' 63-31 victory over Baylor last weekend, and fans have rewarded him for his outstanding play. McCoy has been selected as the week seven Cingular All-America Player of the Week, the only major college football award chosen exclusively by college football fans. McCoy completed 21 of 32 passes for 275 yards, including a school-record six touchdowns, last Saturday against Baylor. McCoy, who helped Texas rally from a 10-0 first quarter deficit, broke the school record of five touchdown passes previously held by James Brown (1994) and Chris Simms (2001) while setting personal highs in passing yards and completions. McCoy received 39% of the votes to win the fan balloting over West Virginia quarterback Pat White (23%), Oklahoma State wide receiver Adarius Bowman (20%) and Indiana quarterback Kellen Lewis (18%). Each player was nominated for this week's award by a panel of ESPN college football analysts based on their outstanding performances last weekend.
