Cingular Wireless Names Andy Shibley Vice President and General Manager of Greater Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Cingular Wireless has named
Andy Shibley vice president and general manager of the Greater Los
Angeles market, which includes Los Angeles, Kern, San Luis Obispo,
Santa Barbara, San Bernardino, Riverside and Orange Counties.
Shibley comes to Los Angeles from San Antonio, Texas, where he was
vice president and general manager of Cingular's operations in
South Texas. He replaces Kelly King, who was named senior vice
president-Consumer Markets for AT&T West. In his new role,
Shibley will oversee all business and financial matters for the
designated markets in Greater Los Angeles. "Andy has demonstrated
exceptional leadership in the wireless industry, and I can't think
of a better person to manage this important market and build on its
success for the future," said Brian Shay, West Region president of
Cingular Wireless. "I have worked closely with Andy in the past and
know he is ideally suited to direct our operations in the Los

Prior to this role, Shibley served as vice president and general
manager of the Cingular Wireless South Texas market, based in San
Antonio, Texas. In addition to San Antonio, the market includes the
greater Houston, Austin and Rio Grande Valley areas. Shibley has
almost 20 years of telecommunications experience having served as
president of Houston Cellular Telephone Company and also worked as
general manager of BellSouth Mobility DCS in Raleigh, NC; general
manager of BellSouth Mobility in New Orleans, LA; and general
manager of American Cellular Corporation in Mobile, AL. He joined
BellSouth Mobility in 1991 as a sales manager in Memphis, TN.
Shibley began his telecommunications career with South Central Bell
Advanced Systems in 1987, working in a variety of sales and
