Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) took down the coker unit at its 142,000 barrel-a-day Corpus Christi, Texas, refinery for maintenance May 25, according to a government filing.

Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) was restarting the wet gas compressor at its 285,000 barrel-a-day refinery in Port Arthur, Texas, according to a govnerment filing on May 25.

LyondellBasell was experiencing a lack of steam going into its 270,000 barrel-a-day Houston refinery's crude distillation unit, two of the traders May 23. The unit was said to have lost steam over the weekend. A company spokesman declined to comment.

Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) experienced an compressor trip on May 21 at its 240,000 barrel-a-day refinery in Joliet, Ill., according to a filing with state regulators. A company spokesman declined to say whether the trip effected operations.

Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) restarted the FCCU at its 185,000 barrel-a-day St. Charles refinery in Norco, La., the company said May 23. Valero had taken the unit offline in March for maintenance.

ConocoPhillips (COP) shut down the hydrogen purification unit at its 247,000 barrel-a-day refinery in Sweeny, Texas, after discovering a leak in a drain valve, according to the filing on May 21.

Royal Dutch Shell PLC (RDSA, RDSA.LN) was restarting May 17 a hydrocracker at its 155,600 barrel-a-day refinery in Martinez, Ca., sources said.

Exxon Mobil Corp. cut production by at least 50,000 barrels a day at its 504,000 barrel-a-day refinery in Baton Rouge, La., because of flooding in the area, a person familiar the refinery said on May 13. An Exxon spokesman declined to comment on the refinery's production rate.

Exxon Mobil Corp. said May 13 it had shut-in segments of the pipelines servicing its refinery in Baton Rouge, La., because of flooding in the region. The company said on May 14 it had closed the docks at the refinery becuase of flooding.

Motiva Enterprise LLC's in Norco, La., refinery has closed its docks and is relying on truck and rail deliveries because of flooding along the Mississippi River, the company said May 17.

Chevron Corp. (CVX) quickly extinguished an isolated fire at one of the crude units at the Pascagoula, Miss., oil refinery early Monday morning, a spokeswoman said. The company declined to comment on the status of the unit or the refinery.
