Illinois Tool Works Names O'Herlihy President, CEO, Effective Jan. 1

Illinois Tool Works has tapped Christopher O'Herlihy to succeed
E. Scott Santi at the helm of the maker of industrial products and
equipment.
The Glenview, Ill., company on Thursday said O'Herlihy, who
currently serves as vice chairman, will become president and chief
executive on Jan. 1.
Illinois Tool Works said Santi will remain chairman until March
1, when he will transition to non-executive chairman.
Santi, who joined Illinois Tool Works as a summer intern in
1982, has been CEO since 2012 and chairman since 2015.
O'Herlihy, 59 years old, has spent more than three decades with
Illinois Tool Works and has been vice chairman since 2015.
