has appointed Carol Erikson vice
president of engineering for its Space Systems business.

In her new role, Erikson will lead engineering efforts for the
James Webb Space Telescope, the Space Tracking and Surveillance
System, the Tactical High Energy Laser and other related programs.
She also will support programs within the research and technology
area of Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems.
Erikson joined Northrop Grumman in 1987 as a systems engineer
and has technical, supply chain, functional management and program
management experience in space systems. She served as the director
for Mission 1 system enhancement and captures, deputy program
manager for program integration on the Advanced Missions Programs
portfolio and project manager for payloads for the National
Polar-orbiting Operational Environmental Satellite System.

Erikson earned bachelor's degrees in computer science and
electrical engineering from Stonehill
College, Easton, Mass., and
the University of Notre Dame, and a
master's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California.
