WASHINGTON, Nov. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Northrop Grumman
Corporation (NYSE: NOC) announced today the launch of its new
Advanced Cyber Technology Center (ACTC), a focal point for cyber
innovation across the corporation.
The announcement was made during a media briefing at the
National Press Club where Northrop Grumman cyber experts described
the center as a game-changer because it leverages technology,
partnerships and world-class expertise from every corner of the
company to offer customers innovative and affordable solutions to
the hardest cyber challenges.
"The dynamic nature of the cyber threat requires a new approach
to the problem – one that leverages expertise and technological
innovation from every mission area of our company," said
Shawn Purvis, vice president and
general manager, cyber division, Northrop Grumman Information
Systems. "Through the ACTC, we can collaborate across our global
presence to develop strategic capabilities that address a variety
of customer and mission needs. We're pursuing the best, most
innovative ideas and investing affordably to bolster our nation's
cyber resiliency and continued technological superiority."
ACTC links technologists and partners from across the company to
rapidly deploy solutions to the toughest cyber
challenges. There will be four major collaboration centers,
located in Virginia, Maryland, the United
Kingdom and Australia that
serve as regional centers developing advanced solutions and
demonstrating the art of the possible to customers, worldwide.
"We're investing strategically to provide affordable solutions
to the most complex customer needs," said Vern Boyle, director of technology, cyber
division, Northrop Grumman Information Systems. "The ACTC is a new
way of combining expertise from a force of more than 2,400 cyber
professionals with an array of intellectual property from key
partners across the government, industry and academia to address
our customer's toughest cyber challenges."
The company also gave reporters an inside look into the
challenges faced by cyber warfighters through a training class
hosted at the press club by Northrop Grumman's Cyber Academy. The
training demonstrated the importance of reducing the time between
network intrusion and the identification and elimination of that
intrusion, and how ACTC solutions are addressing these issues
today, and tomorrow.
