An explosion earlier this week at an oil pipeline in the eastern
part of Libya was due to sabotage, a person in the oil and gas
industry said Thursday. The person said the pipeline is expected to
be repaired in a few days.
A blast occurred late Tuesday at the Zueitina pipeline, which
transports oil from Austrian oil and gas company OMV AG (OMV.VI)
and the U.S.'s Occidental Petroleum Corp. (OXY).
Libya's National Oil Co. said Wednesday that it was
investigating the causes of the explosion. Libyan officials
couldn't be immediately reached for comment.
