ExxonMobil today announced that the Victory Junction Gang Camp, a
camp founded by NASCAR driver Kyle Petty and his wife Pattie to
enrich the lives of children with chronic medical conditions and
serious illnesses, was the recipient of a $25,000 donation
resulting from a month-long, customer-supported convenience store
promotion. The donation was presented to Pattie Petty in ceremonies
prior to the start of the NASCAR race in Atlanta on October 31. "I
was especially excited and thankful to see ExxonMobil and Coke team
together to help Victory Junction," said Petty. "As we seek to
raise funds to help provide a special camping experience for the
kids, the help of ExxonMobil and Coca-Cola is a very positive step
in achieving that goal." Throughout the month of October, for every
44 oz. fountain drink sold at On the Run(R) and company-operated
TigerMarket(TM), Exxon Tiger Mart(TM) and Mobil Mart(TM)
convenience stores, ExxonMobil donated 5 cents to Victory Junction.
During the promotion, each 44 oz. collectible Coca-Cola fountain
cup featured five members of the Coca-Cola NASCAR Racing Family --
Jeff Burton, Kevin Harvick, Dale Jarrett, Kyle Petty, and Elliot
Sadler. On the bottom of each cup was a CD-ROM created exclusively
for the Victory Junction promotion. The CD-ROM contained highlights
from the 2005 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Coca-Cola 600. "The
promotion was an exciting win-win for some well-deserving kids and
our customers, especially those that are NASCAR fans," said Russ
Ritenour, beverage manager, ExxonMobil Convenience Retailing. "Not
only did our customers get a great soda value, an attractive
NASCAR-themed cup and highlights from a great NASCAR race, but they
helped provide an exciting experience for children and their
families who would not otherwise be able to attend camp because of
their special medical needs." Victory Junction is a member of actor
Paul Newman's Association of Hole in the Wall Camps. It is
supported solely by donations from individuals, foundations and
corporations. No child or family has to pay to attend the camp. The
camp, located in Randleman, N.C., opened in 2004. Information about
