CareFusion Earns Top Ranking in MD Buyline and KLAS Reports

Independent market research firms name CareFusion's Pyxis(R)
technologies and MedMined(TM) services 'number one' in respective
areas SAN DIEGO, Oct. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CareFusion
(NYSE:CFN), a new clinical and medical products corporation, has
received No. 1 rankings by independent market research firms for
two of the corporation's key brands. CareFusion's Pyxis®
technologies were again named number one in user satisfaction
ratings in MD Buyline's 2009 third quarter report (July through
September) for the third consecutive quarter; and CareFusion's
MedMined(TM) Services received the annual top ranking for infection
surveillance technology providers by KLAS, published in August
2009. "These rankings reflect our commitment to deliver superior
customer service and innovative medical technologies that are
clinically proven to improve patient care," said Dave

evaluations from health care providers and tallies the scores based
on a 12-month rolling average score. KLAS' ratings are based on the
overall performance calculated from individual scores for each of
40 criteria, consisting of 28 performance indicators and 12
business indicators based on a 100-point scale. CareFusion's Pyxis®
technologies for managing medications and supplies have been shown
to reduce supply costs by 50 percent(1) and help to protect 1.5
million patients annually from medication errors(2). Additionally,
CareFusion estimates that its MedMined(TM) Services has the
potential to help hospitals save 6,800 lives and $1 billion in
health care costs annually by helping to identify at-risk patients
