Sportscar maker Porsche Automobil Holding SE (PAH3.XE) is unlikely to develop a small Roadster model just yet, Chief Executive Matthias Mueller says in an interview in magazine WirtschaftsWoche.

"Maybe a new generation of customers is needed before a small Roadster fits the Porsche model palette," Mueller is quoted as saying.

Executives had previously indicated that such a model could be in the works.

Porsche aims to reach 200,000 vehicle sales by 2018, compared with 118,867 in 2011. The company has four model lines, and plans a new model, which is a smaller version of its Cayenne sports utility vehicle for 2013. Mueller expects the vehicle, dubbed the Cajun, to have annual sales of around 50,000 units.

Following that, Porsche is considering another model.

"Between the 911 GT2 for EUR250,000 and the 918 Spyder for EUR750,000 there's a price range of half a million euros. Why shouldn't we come up with a car for EUR300,000-EUR400,000?," Mueller says.
