PR Newswire (US)
WELLINGTON, Fla., Aug. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Renaissance
Health System of Florida, Inc. (RHS), a subsidiary of The Quantum
Group, Inc. (OTC:QTUM) (BULLETIN BOARD: QTUM) , announced today
that the Company's second and third Community Health Systems (CHS)
have been completed and are fully operational. These new CHS
networks are located in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, with
principal cities of Miami, Miami Beach, Coral Gables, Aventura,
Kendall, Hialeah, Ft. Lauderdale, Hollywood, Davie, Weston and
Pompano Beach. The first CHS was established in Volusia County
earlier this year. Noel J. Guillama, President of Renaissance
Health Systems of Florida, Inc., commented, "Our team is very
pleased with this landmark event, as we continue to build upon our
recent accomplishments. As we have done through our other recent
expansions, we have found the best and brightest Providers to offer
quality and comprehensive care to our future Patients in southeast
Florida." Mr. Guillama went on to say, "With 40 Primary Care and
300 Specialist Providers from these two areas, we have expanded our
total network to over 500 affiliated Providers. We expect to begin
the management of Patient Care in these two counties within 60
days. We both progressively and aggressively continue to build our
network of Providers as we establish Community Health Systems in
ten additional counties." Barbara A. Roqueta, Vice President of
Provider Operations, commented, "The significant progress RHS has
made would not be possible without the efforts of our top-notch
team of Provider Specialists. These individuals are truly the
essence of what Renaissance embodies -- attentive to the services
we offer to our contracted Providers and the determination to make
a positive and significant impact towards quality healthcare in
Florida. We could not be more pleased with their efforts."
Miami-Dade and Broward Counties have a combined population of over
4,000,000 of which 538,000 are eligible for Medicare Advantage
benefits. Among the recent accomplishments of RHS is the unveiling
of its state-of- the-art, interactive website at
http://www.rhsfl.com/ which features an extensive "Health &
Wellness Center." Renaissance Health System of Florida, Inc. has
developed a new model for the benefit of patients, providers and
insurers alike -- the Community Health System or CHS. In a CHS, the
patient is recognized as a true consumer of healthcare services.
Patients are engaged to actively work along side their physician in
pursuit of their improved healthcare lifestyle. This tandem
approach to a patient's health benefits the insurer, the physician
and most importantly, the patient as it emphasizes a proactive
approach to wellness. The mission of Renaissance Health Systems
(RHS) is to provide quality, proactive and cost-effective
healthcare to our patients while simultaneously improving their
quality of life and lifestyle. RHS contracts with Florida Health
Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) to coordinate the care of patients
in a proactive and cost effective environment. The Company's
efforts are in support of the CMS objective to expand the
healthcare options available to Medicare beneficiaries. The Quantum
