Chrysler Group Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles (CPOV) Sales Sets New December Record, Total Year Sales Post Highest Tally Ever

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Jan. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Chrysler
Group reported that its Five Star dealers sold a new December
record of 10,463 Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles (CPOV) in 2005, a 6
percent increase from December 2004 sales of 9,835 units and a 22
percent gain over November 2005 sales. Fourth quarter sales rose 3
percent to 27,184 units, surpassing the fourth quarter sales record
in 2004 of 26,439 units and making this December the second best
month and quarter of 2005. Year-to-date sales also set a new record
with 107,804 units, topping year-to-date sales last year by 8
percent. Chrysler brand pulled ahead of the group this December
with a 15 percent increase to 3,312 units. Jeep(R) sales increased
8 percent on the year to 2,542 units while Dodge sales were flat
compared to last year at 4,609 units. "Our Five Star dealers did an
outstanding job of communicating the consumer benefits of our
Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge CPOV program and that was the reason for
our record sales in 2005," said Ray Fisher, Chrysler Group Vice
President - Sales, Service and Parts Operations. "We are pleased to
end December and the year on such a high note and look to continue

For a vehicle to be certified under the Chrysler Group's used
vehicle program, it must be a 2000 through 2006 model pre-owned
vehicle with less than 65,000 miles and pass a stringent 125 point

8-year/80,000 mile powertrain limited warranty, a 3-month or 3,000
mile Maximum Care(TM) warranty, 24-hour, 365 day full roadside
assistance, $35 per day rental car allowance and a Carfax Vehicle

Group's CPO vehicles are sold only through Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge
dealerships which have earned the Five Star Certification. Five
