New Digital Meter Provides Speed and Flexibility by Processing
Mixed-Weight Mail up to 16,000 Mail Pieces Per Hour STAMFORD,
Conn., Nov. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- On January 1, 2007, Phase
III meters, as defined in the USPS meter migration plan, will no
longer be certified for use. As production mailers migrate for
compliance, the Pitney Bowes digital mailing system -- the DM16KR
-- delivers new functionality that is performance-tested for
flexibility and speed. The new DM Infinity(TM) digital postage
meter processes mixed-weight mail up to 16,000 mail pieces per hour
on a single meter using Reset-on-the-Fly(TM) technology. This
increases productivity by eliminating the need to ping-pong between
two or more letterpress meters. The first DM Infinity(TM) Series
reset-able meter -- the DM22KR -- was launched in January 2005
running mixed-weight mail up to 22,000 mail pieces per hour. The
new expanded range of the DM Infinity(TM) Series enables customers
to increase their mailstream productivity and seamlessly transition
to USPS(R) compliance. "The DM16KR meets both the budget and
business needs of our customers. Pitney Bowes DM Infinity(TM)
systems ease the meter migration process with proven performance,
reliability and ease of use," said Clint Dally, Vice President,
Product Line Management. The DM16KR integrates with Pitney Bowes
and non-Pitney Bowes inserters for digital migration compliance.
The DM16KR offers flexible indicia or permit printing, prints
non-stop with dual print heads, and has no downtime to add ink. To
comply with the USPS(R) Meter Migration Mandate, 6500 Series
(letterpress) postage meters cannot be used after December 31,
2006. To order the Pitney Bowes DM Infinity(TM) Series DM16KR
