Swedish clothing retailer Hennes & Mauritz (HM-B.SK) said Tuesday that comparable sales in September fell 2%, hit by a 2 percentage point calendar effect.

 
   MAIN FACTS: 

-Total sales in September rose 7%.

-Analysts had expected comparable sales to dip 2.3% and total sales to rise 7.6% in September.

-The company said it had 3,006 stores on September 30 compared with 2,669 on the same day last year.

-In its 3Q report, H&M reported an 8% total sales increase from September 1 to September 24.

-Shares in H&M ended Monday at SEK271.10.
