Home Depot Inc. said it is promoting Ted Decker, the company's chief merchant, to president and chief operating officer, effective Monday.

The roles were newly created, a Home Depot spokeswoman said Friday. The company said Mr. Decker will oversee global store operations, supply chain and outside sales and service.

Mr. Decker has been at the company for 20 years and has served as executive vice president of merchandising since 2014. Succeeding Mr. Decker in that role is Jeff Kinnaird, who was most recently president of Home Depot Canada.

Michael Rowe, most recently the vice president of e-commerce, marketing and contractor services, has been tapped as the president of Home Depot Canada.

The company also named Ann-Marie Campbell as the executive vice president of U.S. stores and international operations. She previously oversaw the company's U.S. stores.

Home Depot said Finance Chief Richard McPhail, who entered his position last year, will assume additional responsibility for its corporate strategy and strategic development.

If approved by the board, Mr. Decker's base salary will increase to $1 million from $835,000 in 2019, the company said in a filing to the Securities and Exchange Commission. Ms. Campbell's base salary will rise to $850,000 from $775,000, while Mr. McPhail's will increase to $825,000 from $700,000.
