Hochtief Secures 3 US, Australian Contracts Worth About EUR490 Million

German construction company Hochtief (HOT.XE) Wednesday said its
units in Australia and the U.S. have secured three contracts worth
around EUR490 million.
MAIN FACTS:
-Thiess, a subsidiary of Hochtief's Australian unit Leighton
(LEI.AU), will construct gas processing plants for mineral group
QGC in Queensland. Work will begin this month and the contract is
valued at EUR266.3 million, as earlier reported.
-As part of a joint venture, Thiess will plan and build a new
breakwater for Chevron's (CVX) Wheatstone gas project. Thiess'
share is worth around EUR104.5 million.
-In the U.S., Hochtief unit Flatiron has been commissioned for a
road construction project for the Washington State Department of
Transportation, worth around EUR118 million.
-Tuesday, Hochtief said Leighton received a A$1 billion
Australian mining contract from OZ Minerals (OZL.AU).
-In the fourth quarter of 2011, Hochtief's incoming orders were
around EUR9 billion.
