    In accordance with DTR 5.6.1 of the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules, Bradford & Bingley plc (the "Company") hereby announces
that, as at today's date, the Company's issued share capital consists of 1,445,344,774 ordinary shares of 25p each. The voting rights of the
ordinary shares are identical, with each ordinary share carrying the right to one vote. The Company holds no shares in Treasury.

    Therefore the total number of voting rights in the Company's issued share capital is 1,445,344,774 and this figure may be used by
shareholders as the denominator in order to determine whether they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest
in, the Company under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
