Green Economy Mark and SBTi
certifications
Kier Group plc ("Kier" or the
"Group"), a leading UK infrastructure services, construction and
property group, announces that it has met
the criteria to achieve the London Stock
Exchange ("LSE") Green Economy Mark, and received verification from
the Science Based Targets initiative ("SBTi") for its emissions
reduction targets, including the commitment to reach net-zero
across the value chain by 2045.
Green Economy Mark
The global energy transition is a
structural revenue driver for Kier, as demonstrated by the
attainment of the Green Economy Mark which requires 50% of revenue
to be derived from green products and services in line with the
FTSE Russell Green Revenues Classification System. Climate change
is leading to increased demand in Kier's existing end
markets.
Science Based Targets
The Group is also pleased that the
successful implementation of its Carbon Reduction Plan has been
recognised by the SBTi through the verification of its range of
targets, including net-zero carbon across scopes 1, 2 and 3 by
2045.
PAS
2080
The Group has also received PAS 2080
certification for our Infrastructure Services and Construction
segments. PAS 2080 is the leading standard for carbon management
solutions in buildings and infrastructure development. The
certification highlights Kier's commitment to designing and
managing out carbon from the lifecycle of UK infrastructure
projects that we deliver for our customers.
