TGP ACQUIRES FRENCH LOGISTICS COMPANY - BARLATIER

TNT Post Group N.V (TPG) has acquired a 51% stake in Barlatier S.A., the French
logistics company.  TPG will acquire the remaining 49% of Barlatier over the
next few years.

Barlatier, which has its headquarters in Bouc Bel Air near Marseille, was
founded in 1892 and specialises in providing logistics services for leading
industrial, pharmaceutical and electronics companies. In 1999, Barlatier
achieved a total turnover of EUR 46 million (FF 304 million).  Barlatier 
has 700 employees and operates 17 depots covering 250,000 square metres.  
Jean-Pierre Barlatier will remain in charge of the company and the 
headquarters remain located in Bouc Bel Air.

TPG has acquired Barlatier to reinforce its position in the French and European
logistics market, where it operates under its TNT brand.  Both TNT and
Barlatier's customers will benefit from the combined expertise, expanded
capabilities and increased distribution assets (e.g warehouses) of the two
companies.


TPG with its two brands TNT and Royal PTT Post, is a global provider of Mail,
Express and Logistics services.  It employs more than 115,000 people in 60
countries and serves over 200 countries.  The company had sales of EUR 8.5
billion in 1999.  TPG is publicly listed on the Stock Exchanges of Amsterdam,
New York, London and Frankfurt.
