Italy's Eni SpA (ENI.MI) Monday said it would wait to hear from the Ugandan government before rescinding its purchase of a half-share in two oil blocks from Heritage Oil PLC (HOIL.LN).

Eni's purchase was thrown into doubt Sunday when Tullow Oil PLC (TLW.LN) decided to exercise its contractual rights to pre-empt the sale and make the purchase itself.
