The Cingular Buddy Bash Rolls Into Malls Across America Check out the Competition to See Whose AOL(R) Instant Messenger(TM) 'Buddy List(R)' Rocks and Enjoy a Free Concert by Hot New Music Artists ATLANTA, May 7 /PRNewswire/ -- The Cingular Buddy Bash is coming to town, encouraging youth ages 13-21 to test their knowledge of music as well as their instant messaging (IM) skills. Cingular Buddy Bash challenges contestants to "buddy up" with their IM friends to see who can answer a series of music-trivia questions the fastest using the AOL(R) Instant Messenger(TM) (AIM(R)) service on Cingular phones. The live competition will visit 15 malls throughout the country. Cingular teamed up with America Online, Nokia, Hewlett Packard, Journey's and Simon Malls to bring the Buddy Bash to 14 cities nationwide on weekends during the month of May. The winner from each local event will travel to Atlanta to compete in the final competition on June 5th. The grand prize winner will receive a $5,000 Simon Giftcard that can be spent in any Simon Mall, one year of free Cingular service, a one year AOL membership subscription, a $250 American Express gift certificate from America Online and a Hewlett Packard computer. In addition to the live competition, the Buddy Bash offers something for everyone. Contestants and spectators will enjoy a free performance by emerging music artists including JoJo, Young Gunz, Zebrahead, Busted, Ryan Cabrera and FeFe Dobson. Additionally, Cingular customers attending the Buddy Bash will be granted special access to the exclusive Cingular VIP Lounge, where they will have an opportunity to chill out and meet the artist, as well as demo the latest wireless phones and services from Cingular. To gain entry, Cingular customers must send a text message from their Cingular Wireless phone to the short code "BUDDY." They will then receive a text message with an access code that will give them entry to the lounge area.
