Towards the conclusion of the show, viewers were surprised with the announcement of a special twist: the opportunity to text message their votes to determine one Survivor among all 18 All-Stars that would receive a second one million dollar cash prize. Recognizing that all "Survivor" fans would want to have a vote, Cingular has opened up the text voting to other wireless carriers' subscribers, making America's Tribal Council voting the largest carrier-sponsored, text message promotion in partnership with a reality television series that allows fans to directly participate in the show's outcome.
