Scores of Business Clients Sign With Cingular Nation's Largest Wireless Company Wins Average of 3 High-End Corporate and Government Accounts a Day Since Close of AT&T Wireless Transaction ATLANTA, Dec. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Cingular Wireless has closed deals with more than 135 high-end business and government customers in the first 45 days since its acquisition of AT&T Wireless became official, the company announced today. New customers or those that signed contract extensions since October 26 included the U.S. Navy, McDonald's Corporation, ROSS Stores, Inc., Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc., Davis, Polk & Wardwell, the United Illuminating Company, and San Bernadino County, Cal., SAFE Program. "We have not missed a beat even while the integration of two B2B organizations into a single, business-focused entity within the new Cingular takes place," said Kent Mathy, president, Cingular Wireless Business Markets Group. "Our account teams have been as aggressive as ever in pursuing new business, and our customers and prospects remain keenly interested in the value proposition that Cingular brings to the table. This includes the nation's largest digital wireless voice and data network, experience and expertise in delivering even the most complex communications solutions, and a business-to-business organization that is completely separate from consumer operations." The new and extended customer agreements cover a variety of wireless services including voice, corporate e-mail access and other data offerings via PDAs, Pocket PCs and smart phones, and customized solutions for companies in specific vertical industries. The contract values range from a few hundred thousand dollars to several million dollars. The largest contract secured by Cingular Wireless since October 26 was a multiple vendor award by the U.S. Navy that could garner as much as $20 million annually for up to five years. The contract calls for Cingular and others to provide wireless domestic and international voice services to personnel stationed at naval bases throughout the U.S. Cingular Wireless counts employees of 95 of the Fortune 100 companies and more than 80 percent of the Fortune 500 as customers. It also serves more than 1,200 federal, state and local government agencies.
