Re-Elects Elizabeth Chappell, Ralph Szygenda and Thomas Wilson TROY, Mich., Sept. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Handleman Company (NYSE:HDL), http://www.handleman.com/, today announced that Robert Kirby and Adam Sexton have been elected to the Company's Board of Directors and that Elizabeth Chappell, Ralph Szygenda and Thomas Wilson have been re-elected to the Company's Board of Directors. Mr. Kirby has served as President and Chief Operating Officer of the Company since October 2006. From May 2004 through October 2006, Mr. Kirby served as President, Personal Products Company -- Consumer Products Companies of Johnson & Johnson. Mr. Kirby's prior experience includes positions in executive management with Johnson & Johnson, Fort James Corporation and Kimberly Clark. Mr. Kirby holds a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire. Mr. Sexton has over 15 years of experience in marketing and management in the music and technology industries and currently serves as Chief Marketing Officer of Groove Mobile, Inc., a world leader in over-the-air download music stores. Mr. Sexton's prior experience includes positions at Macrovision, Supertracks, Arista Records, EMI Records and BMG International. Mr. Sexton holds a BA degree in Government from Harvard College and a MBA in Marketing/Management from Columbia Business School.
