U.S. Army Awards Northrop Grumman Unit Training Support Contract

HERNDON, Va., Aug. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The U.S. Army's
Northern Region Contracting Center has awarded Northrop Grumman
(NYSE:NOC) the Unit Training Support (UTS) contract to provide
integrated training solutions to warfighters at Fort Leavenworth,
Kan. The $37 million contract covers a base year and four option
years. Five separately managed U.S. Army training contracts were
brought together under the UTS contract: Battle Command and Battle
Staff Training and Integration Support; Battle Staff Mobile
Training Team; Home Station Training Master Plan Support; Army
Digital Training Strategy Support; and Army Collective Task
Management Support. "This win reinforces our position at the
forefront of training development and our support to U.S. Army
operational centers worldwide," said Mike Roberts, vice president
and general manager of the Training and Simulation Group at
Northrop Grumman's Technical Services sector. "From training battle
staffs using the most current tactics, techniques and procedures,
to developing digital battle command training packages, to
instructing soldiers right after new equipment fielding, we bring
tremendous subject matter expertise and training support
capabilities to our soldiers serving in harm's way." Contract
responsibilities are focused on three major operational areas:
develop and support current and future force training concepts,
capabilities and associated requirements and strategies; provide
training management, support, and integration for Army units,
TRADOC (U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command) schools and
centers, and Army support of joint programs; and develop and
deliver training products and provide support to unit training.
